That's important, but there's also the fact that I've heard nymphs are pretty connected to nature. Cutting or picking flowers for gifts just kills them. I don't think a nymph would like that very much.

I would have no idea what nymphs can or can't hear. The closest I've been to one was a weird plant parasite situation years ago and when a disease called Kräkaskron grew all these flowers that killed me, and I don't think either of those are the same at all.

Dogs don't usually have head crests...but I guess they don't usually have shells, either.

I've only really interacted with April's dog thingy, Mayhem, before I got here. Mayhem never bites, just scratches, usually Raph. Mildly funny cause Raph wants to be Mayhem's friend so bad.

Not all of them were on purpose. Sometimes it's more to your advantage to be a different monster during a certain time of the year, though. A gargoyle does a lot better with the cold than a manticore, and if it's rainy all the time, then merperson, simulacrum, and slime could all be bad ideas.
Besides, sometimes you just want to be a puppy.
