He pops open the door, openly relieved to see her. He still looks emotionally wrung out, but it eases with Ray's presence.
The tail makes him blink a little. He looks the same initially. It isn't immediately obvious, but the pupils of his eyes seemed to have changed into a crescent moon shape. He steps out of the room to just gently pull Ray into a hug.]

And he is very much different looking as a demon, what part of his arms not covered by his shirt are covered by dark purple scales and of course the purple lips and sclera.
